VALENTINES DAY - INTRODUCTION TO TRX TRAINING


This Valentine's day was the first Total Fitness class that included TRX Suspension Training.

This was an added twist to the most sophisticated fitness machine ever - your body!
TRX suspension training takes body weight exercises to a new level.  Like your typical body weight exercises, TRX works on functional use and incorporates a good portion of your body's muscle mass along with working the core.

The great thing about Dynabody Total Fitness classes I offer is that it focuses on the entire spectrum of fitness;  Muscular Strength, Power, Muscular Endurance, Speed, Cardiovascular Endurance, Balance, Coordination and Flexibility.

TEAM DYNABODY AT ICE DONKEY


Congratulations to Team – DYNABODY for completing Ice Donkey!


 A special thanks to Tonya, Cathy and Rick for joining me in what we nicknamed “Ice Dinkie”

We joined more than 400 racers in the first Ice Donkey Winter Adventure Obstacle Challenge at the U of M, tackling 5 kilometres of deep snow and obstacles like the Tower of Power, the Wall of Shame, Swamp Slalom, Quinsy Crawl, Moose Moguls, and Lick the Poles.

At the end, Tonya was in her groove and said she could have done another 5 kms!  I don’t know if I could have done another 5 but I know I could have done it a lot faster...  Total Teamwork and pride ruled and we all did fantastic – even passing some teams that had started the heat 15 minutes before us!

We all had a great time and when done we were already talking about doing it again next year!

SIT-UPS FOR PENNIES


This Monday, February 4th was the last day that the penny is being distributed. As a tribute to the retirement of Canada’s penny AND to help fight heart disease and stroke I will be doing a fundraising event during an upcoming Dynabody Total Fitness Workout class at the end of the month (Feb.26 & Feb.28). 

“Sit-Up for Pennies”  is a fun and challenging way to “Crunch out” Heart Disease. 

It’s quite simple – 1 sit up = 1 penny.  How many sit-ups or crunches can you do in 15 minutes?

Eg:  600 sit-ups - $6 pledge.

I’m going for one thousand!

So  join the rest of the  DynaBods and help raise some funds for Heart & Stroke research by pledging a penny a sit-up, a flat donation, or just participate for fun.  There will be prizes available to win!

All donations go to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
