THE MOST ADVANCED MACHINE EVER CREATED
YOU already HAVE the most advanced fitness machine ever created – Your Body. It is the only thing that you are never without.
But, do you use it?
I could spend a lot of time on my perspective regarding physical fitness, but we already know that you need to exercise and eat nutritiously to remain healthy. The problem is that there is a huge disconnect between knowledge and action.
Here’s a quote from the greatest martial artist that ever lived – Bruce Lee
“Knowing is not enough, we must apply, Willing is not enough we must do”
What I try to impress on my Fitness class participants is that life is made up of effective patterns and habits. You need to commit mentally, emotionally and physically if you are to achieve your individual goals and improve your level of fitness and health. I can’t do it for them. I can coach and guide, but it is up to the individual alone to be successful.
Your behaviour now directly affects your behaviour in the future. You need to harness your subconscious mind to help achieve your goals. Every time you push through discomfort and put your goals first your resolve is strengthened.
So focus on progressing. Kick it up a notch. Go from “coasting” to “DOING.”
By creating the right balance of body and mind, YOU WILL banish stress, overcome failure, defeat fear and depression and have a much happier lifestyle.

SIGN UP & WIN A TRX TRAINING SESSION!
A lot of training equipment, systems and fad diets are the result of marketing – not a genuine attempt to help the out-of-shape society reach higher levels of fitness and well-being. Doing the right exercises will keep safe from chronic injuries, improve joint stability, and build strength - adding functional value in our daily lives.
The body is an interconnected chain of muscles that need to be challenged in every plane of motion. You need to unplug from machines and train your body in 3D. Enter the TRX Suspension Trainer. The TRX provides variable resistance to functional exercises that are the ultimate in core stability and mobility.
I have incorporated TRX in the Total Fitness classes and the “Dynabods” love it!
Sign up for the Spring Session now! As an added bonus I will be offering a free personal TRX training session to one lucky participant.

SIT-UP FOR PENNIES A SUCCESS!
After the Tuesday Leg workout and Thursday
Upper Body workout participants spent the final part of their Total Fitness
Class helping to raise money for the Heart & Stroke
Foundation.
Some of the Dynabods stuck with traditional
sit-ups, others added in crunches. For Thursday
a 15 minute “Ab Explosion” was included where participants did a different core
exercise every minute – from crunches to elbow planks, from Russian twists to
the tough “Superman to Banana rolls” to name a few.
The response was fantastic!
Here are some of the results;
Shannon 280
sit-ups!
Tara 350 sit-ups/crunches!
Tim 375
Colleen 487
Tania 600
I surpassed my goal – I did 1,001!
Sit-Up for Pennies raised over $780!
Thanks to everyone that donated. Your effort brings us one step closer to “Crunching
out Heart Disease & Stroke!

VALENTINES DAY - INTRODUCTION TO TRX TRAINING
This Valentine's day was the first Total Fitness class that included TRX Suspension Training.
This was an added twist to the most sophisticated fitness machine ever - your body!
TRX suspension training takes body weight exercises to a new level. Like your typical body weight exercises, TRX works on functional use and incorporates a good portion of your body's muscle mass along with working the core.
The great thing about Dynabody Total Fitness classes I offer is that it focuses on the entire spectrum of fitness; Muscular Strength, Power, Muscular Endurance, Speed, Cardiovascular Endurance, Balance, Coordination and Flexibility.

TEAM DYNABODY AT ICE DONKEY
Congratulations to Team – DYNABODY for
completing Ice Donkey!
A special thanks to Tonya, Cathy and Rick
for joining me in what we nicknamed “Ice Dinkie”
We joined
more than 400 racers in the first Ice Donkey Winter Adventure Obstacle
Challenge at the U of M, tackling 5 kilometres of deep snow and obstacles like the Tower of
Power, the Wall of Shame, Swamp Slalom, Quinsy Crawl, Moose Moguls, and Lick
the Poles.
At the end, Tonya was in her groove and
said she could have done another 5 kms!
I don’t know if I could have done another 5 but I know I could have
done it a lot faster... Total Teamwork and
pride ruled and we all did fantastic – even passing some teams that had started
the heat 15 minutes before us!
We all had a great time and when done we were already talking about doing it again next year!
